What Have We Been Up To?

Book-ish Things…

We took a bit of a brain break over the holidays and are diving back into Scarab edits. We are also going to start a new series of posts with some behind the scenes/character introductions for our patrons and little snippets of world building for The Scarab Whispers.

Patreon…

We’ve started providing our Patrons with writing prompts and art prompts this month! The prompts we came up with for the month are super fun and we’re so excited to see what everyone writes/draws/paints/etc!

We’ve also been doing some fun bonus recordings for our Patrons. The ‘after pie’ sessions are fun sort of ‘stream of consciousness ramblings’ that we sometimes record around 2am when we come home from making pies at a local cafe. They tend to dissolve into laughter and silliness but we do also have some interesting philosophical conversations as well.

Jess & Hids Make A Podcast!

What Else Is New?

We’ve researched and discussed so many fun topics including Dolly Shepherd, Punk Punks, the bobtail squid and the book town of Jimbocho, Tokyo!

We’ve also had suggestions come in from listeners and patrons that we’ve added to our list and can’t wait to dive into those in future episodes. If you have ideas for topics, send us an email at JessAndHids@gmail.com.

Our episodes release every Thursday and can be found on your favorite podcast app! Give us a listen and please leave a review! The more reviews and downloads we have, the better! Reviews move us up in the rankings on various apps and help us get seen by more people! Thank you so much if you’ve been listening and have already given reviews!

We’ve moved our Book Club and Movie Club posts out of the events and into the main feed of our Facebook group. Events were just getting lost in the mix and honestly, we’re having a lot more fun now!

If you haven’t joined the group yet, you should! We are reading The Spellshop, by Sarah Beth Durst for January.

We’ll be watching Repo! The Genetic Opera on the 23rd.

We sent $150 to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue for our final quarter of 2024.

We are so thrilled to be able to help them continue to rebuild and serve the people and animals of Western North Carolina.

Our chosen charity of this quarter is Pennsylvania Bat Conservation and Rehabilitation! Bats are adorable little critters and are very important for a healthy ecosystem! You can check them out at pabatrescue.org.
